PRIME drinks have become liquid gold across the UK with hundreds trying to get their hands on a bottle.
But before they rush to shops and supermarkets in search for the viral drink, many want to know if Prime is halal.
There has been a lot of confusion surrounding whether Prime drinks are halal or not.
Halal is an Arabic word that simply means lawful or permitted, but generally refers to what’s allowed under Islamic law.
It is the opposite of haram, which means unlawful or prohibited.
According to the official Prime websites frequently asked questions page - the drink is not halal.
The page states ''No, PRIME products are not halal''.
After fans of the popular hydration drink came across this information, many took to social media to share their frustrations that the drink was not halal.
As a result of all the uproar and confusion, KSI - one of the viral YouTuber's behind the drink, confirmed the information on the website was in fact incorrect and that Prime drinks are halal.
The mistake on the website has many fans believing it could simply be down to the fact the drink is not halal certified.
This does not mean it is not halal - it just means the product has not completed the Halal Certification process.
Taking to Twitter, following the barrage of tweets from upset customers, KSI confirmed that the hydration drink is in fact halal.
He wrote: ''Prime is halal.''
The tweet came from KSI's verified Twitter page which has over 8 million followers.
Although many think of it as an energy drink, Prime is actually a sports drink.
According to the manufacturers, Prime contains 10% coconut water, electrolytes, B Vitamins and BCAAs.
It has zero sugar or caffeine and only around 20 calories per bottle.
The range comes in flavours Meta Moon, Ice Pop, Blue Raspberry, Tropical Punch. Lemon Lime, Grape, and Orange versions.
On the Prime official website, popular YouTubers and founders of Prime, Logan Paul and KSI shared a message providing more information on the drink.
They wrote: ''We created PRIME to showcase what happens when rivals come together as brothers and business partners to fill the void where great taste meets function.
''We dropped our first product, PRIME Hydration in 2022 and since then, we've continued to work countless hours to expand in retailers, reach new markets and formulate new products we know you'll love.
''We've been humbled by the process of creating a real brand and surpassing some of the biggest beverage companies in the world.
''As underdogs, we always cherish the opportunity to show the world what's possible.
''Now that we're both fighting for the same team, we truly believe the sky is the limit.''
Since the release of the drink, customer have gone wild in a bid to get their hands on a bottle or two.
The surge in demand that the two YouTubers have created has seen stores in the UK with huge lines of customers, all queueing for hours to stand a chance of purchasing the drink.
It was not long before supplies of the product ran out everywhere, even the company's website.
This led to some unscrupulous customers looking to sell the drink online for £20-25 per bottle.
Considering the product can be bought in supermarkets for £2, this huge mark-up in excess of 1000%, did not sit well with one of the pair of influencers.
KSI hit back and released a video online stating that people were being ripped off buying bottles of Prime at such an extortionate price.
He urged people not to buy the drink at the over-inflated prices seen online and to stick to sourcing it from supermarket chain Asda, although it is also available from other suppliers such as Aldi.
In January 2023, more buzz around the drink began when KSI and Logan Paul confirmed a new version of Prime will be hitting shelves in the UK - but not without a catch.
You will only be able to buy it if you're aged 18 or over.
This is based on the fact it contains 200mg of caffeine.
The new flavours will be Blue Raspberry, Lemon Lime, Tropical Punch, Strawberry Watermelon, and Orange Mango.
The brand has confirmed the drink, which is currently out in the US, will be reaching the UK in April - but it's not yet clear how much it will be.
So far, Asda has confirmed it will be selling the drink come April.
However, retail giant Morrisons have confirmed they will not be stocking Prime.
